Match the music mood to your message

The track you pick sets the emotional tone before anyone hears a word you say. Something calm and warm suits a client explainer; something driving suits a product launch. If the music is fighting your message, try a different track rather than turning it down further.

Two ways to add music

Pick a track from BIGVU's built-in library, or upload audio you already own. Both live in the same Music panel in the Video Maker. Uploading music is available on web only — in the mobile app you choose from BIGVU's library.

Background music should be heard, not noticed

If a viewer is distracted by the music, it's too loud. Use the Voice / Music slider to push the balance heavily toward voice — somewhere around 90/10 — then play the video back and listen for whether you can follow every word comfortably.

BIGVU's tracks are cleared for use; yours might not be

BIGVU's library is cleared for you to publish on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. If you upload your own file, the rights are your responsibility — a track pulled off the internet can still trigger a copyright claim or block monetization, even on a business account.

Upload once, reuse everywhere

Audio you upload is saved to your library, so you can drop the same track into any project later. Using one piece of music consistently is an easy way to make a series of videos feel like they belong together.

Music bakes into the video on export

Once you export, the music is part of the video file and can't be separated out. Get the balance right before you export, and keep the project if you think you'll want a version without music later.

Is Background Music on the free plan?

BIGVU's track library is free on every plan, so anyone can score a video without paying extra. Uploading your own audio is part of Media Library, which is a paid feature — if you're on the free plan, you can still use every track BIGVU provides.

How do I add music to a video?

Music is applied in the Video Maker, not from a separate tool. On web, open a take's three-dot menu, choose Open Video Maker, then click Music in the left toolbar. On mobile, open the take, tap a subtitle style to enter the editor, then tap the speaker icon.

Can I upload my own music from my phone?

No — uploading your own audio is a web feature. In the mobile app you pick from BIGVU's built-in library, which is free on every plan.
