Why does the mouth movement look off?

Lip-sync quality depends on the source portrait. Faces partially hidden by hair, hats, or hands, sharp side angles, or AI-generated portraits with unusual proportions can produce stiff or mistimed mouth movement — switch to a clearer front-facing portrait and regenerate.

Do I need to record myself on camera?

No. AI Talking Photo turns a single portrait into a speaking presenter, so you can produce talking-head videos without filming a take or setting up a camera.
